The Importance of Web Accessiblity

When your computer cannot start up, you use your cell phone to browse the Web to find help. However, you could not because that site was incompatible with your cell phone browser because it's full of Flash and Java objects.

Assume you are blind, you are browsing the Web with a screen reader. You couldn't get around because you got lost when a pop-up appeared.

An accessible website solve all problems above. So what is an accessible site? An accessible site is usable to disabilities and incapable browsers. Lynx Web browser doesn't support images, so you provide description and alternative text for images.

There were many forum software, wiki software and content management systems(CMS). Most of them were not so accessible. They relied on JavaScripts and Flash objects. I dismissed them because of that.
